The challenge and promise of business intelligence revolves around providing employees with the right information, at the right time to accomplish a specific goal. Making this promise a reality demands a business intelligence solution that is comprehensive, secure, integrated with operational systems, and available all day, every day. SQL Server helps companies to achieve this goal with SQL Server 2005.

We will explore how the Microsoft Business Intelligence Suite, included with SQL Server 2005, can assist the Developer Community in delivering complete reporting, analytical, and data transformation solutions. The SQL Server 2005 platform comes with a tightly integrated array of tools to provide the information needed by businesses to make key decisions throughout the organization. Microsoft Office combined with SQL Server Integration Services, Analysis Services, and Reporting Services lay the foundation for the core tools needed by Developers to meet the information requirements throughout all levels of an enterprise.

We’ll continue the discussion of business intelligence by exploring how to create, manage and share reports around the intelligence data you’ve gathered. We’ll look at Reporting Services as a comprehensive, server-based solution that enables the creation, management, and delivery of both traditional, paper-oriented reports and interactive, Web-based reports. SharePoint provides a single solution that combines the ability to easily create corporate Web portals with document management, content searching, and team collaboration features. Finally, we’ll look at how to provide knowledge of your business through the Business Scorecard Manager, a comprehensive scorecard and dashboard application that provides you with deep contextual insight into business drivers.
