Microsoft Developer Care - Agenda
What's New in Visual Studio 2005 - February 17th
11:30 – 12:00
Lunch
What's New in
the Visual Studio IDE
This session
will introduce developers to many of the new features found
inside of the Visual Studio 2005 IDE. This "language agnostic"
overview will cover new features like code snippets, the class
designer, and the object test bench in addition to the numerous
other usability enhancements found in the VS 2005 environment.
Time will also be spent showing improvements in Intellisense,
debugging, and navigating your code.
New Language
Features in .NET 2.0
This session
will look at new language features found in C# and VB.NET. The
focus will be on features common to both languages, such as
generics and partial types, but time will also be spent
highlighting some of the more interesting language specific
features like VB's My classes and C# anonymous methods.
.NET Futures:
LINQ, C# 3.0, and what’s Next
Imagine how
difficult your daily life would be if you had to speak French to
work with your Human Resources Department, German to work with
Finance, and Spanish to speak with management. You’re
productivity would drastically drop. But yet, that’s what we do
every day. We use our favorite general purpose language for our
business objects, SQL for querying data, and XSLT for modifying
presentation logic. Wouldn’t we be more productive if we could
use our most familiar language for all our work? That’s the
vision behind LINQ, Language Integrated Query. If you use data,
you should be able to query it, or transform it, using the
language with which you are most familiar. In this session,
you’ll see the proposed additions to C# 3.0, and how they
support this unified vision of working with data.
